www 2016: Several aircraft and helicopters formally entered service with the Myanmar Air Force (Tatmadaw Lay) in a commissioning ceremony at the Flying Training Base in Meikhtilla Air Station on 24 June 2015, according to a report by IHS-Jane’s on 16 July quoting the Myanmar Ministry of Defence. Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, noted that the commissioning of Beechcraft 1900D light transport aircraft, Grob G 120TP basic trainer aircraft, Mil Mi-35P 'Hind E' attack helicopters; Airbus Helicopters AS365 Dauphin 2s; and Bell 206 Jetranger III helicopters, has “not only strengthened the air prowess of the air force but also the national defence capability of the Tatmadaw [armed forces].” According to Gen Min Aung Hlaing, the Tatmadaw Lay has commissioned 36 new aircraft over the last four years: “29 units of four types of aircraft and 7 units of three types of helicopters.” Local assembly is believed to take place at the Tatmadaw Lay's Aircraft Production and Maintenance Base in Meikhtilla.

FG 23/1/18 : Myanmar har indgået kontrakt for 6 Sukhoi Su-30 kampfly. Luftvåbnet råder allerede over 39 Mikoyan MiG-29 fly, mens 16 Chengdu/Pakistan Aeronautical Complex JF-17 fly er på bestilling. Ældre typer omfatter 21 Shenyang A-5, 24 Chengdu F-7 samt et enkelt Shenyang J-6 fra Kina.

SCW 15/12/22 : I alt 15 nye fly og helikoptere kom i tjeneste ved luftvåbnet i Myanmar under ceremoni ved Mandalay-Meiktila træningsluftbasen 15/12/2022. Luftvåbnet, som har fejret sit 75-års jubilæum i 2022, havde skiftet navn fra Burma Air Force (BAF) til Myanmar Air Force (MAF) i 1990. Anskaffelsen af nye Sukhoi Su-30SME fjerde-generation kampfly har været et nøgleelement, men den mest overraskende type var Kamov Ka-28, hvoraf 2 eksemplarer var tilstede. Sidstnævnte helikoptere stammer muligvis fra den indiske flåde. De fremviste fly og helikoptere omfattede 2 Su-30SME kampfly [1904 og 1905], 5 FTC-2000G jettrænere [1401, 1403, 1404, 1405 og 1406], 1 FT-7M [1665], 4 K-8W jettrænere [inkl. 3937 og 3938], 1 Y-8F-200 transportfly [5821] samt 2 Kamov Ka-28 helikoptere [6351 og 6352].
