The Rotary Club of Montgomery/Rocky Hill celebrated the successful two-year tenure of outgoing president Richard Ragsdale this past June and toasted the initiation of incoming president George Jarvis.
“I am just delighted to hand the reins over to George,” said Ragsdale. “As anyone who knows him can attest, he has incredible energy and a great big heart. He’s going to be an excellent president.”
Jarvis expressed enthusiasm for the coming year. “Our local Rotary Club is terrific: 33 people who care about the community, enjoy volunteering, and the satisfaction that comes with helping people,” said Jarvis. “But we can be even better – have an even greater impact. I want to grow our membership, strengthen ties with local nonprofits and the schools, and position the club for the best-ever Run with Rotary in 2017.”
The local Rotary Club celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2015. Since its founding in 1990, Montgomery/Rocky Hill Rotarians have worked to help people in need and to support charitable organizations and causes in Montgomery and Rocky Hill. Over the years, the club has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for worthwhile causes, primarily through its signature annual fundraiser, the Run with Rotary.
