Skillman resident John Dragen is building a stone wall in front of Mother of God Church in Cherry Valley Rd., of which he is a member. There was plenty of rock turned up during the construction at the church, so he picked through the pile and started to work. Although retired from the corporate world, he works four or five hours a day during the morning, when it’s cooler. He began doing stone wall work about three years ago and started on this project last year. He hopes to be finished during the fall, but has plans for a stone mailbox for the church and a combined pizza and BBQ pit, as well.
