Welcome back to a school year that will once again be filled with music, art, and theatre. The visual and performing arts faculty members are excited to start another year with their students and engage their creative minds. The award winning MHS Marching Band has been in full swing since August 17 rehearsing their half-time show and gearing up to cheer our football team on to victory. The 120 students in the marching band are excited to share what they have been working on so we hope to see everyone at a home football game.
Between all of the concerts, shows, and art exhibits, there are over 50 performances that Montgomery students will be involved in this school year. We hope you are able to join us for some of them. You will be amazed at what our students and teachers are able to achieve.
Performances are listed on the school calendars and can also be found on the home page of the school district’s website. We are very proud of our visual and performing arts program and thankful to the community for the wonderful support you offer. Educating the whole child is something Montgomery continues to value as a guiding philosophy and the arts play a tremendous role in that.
If you have any questions about our arts programs or how your child can be involved, please reach out to Mr. Adam Barshefsky, K-12 supervisor of the visual and performing arts. He can be reached at awarshafsky@mtsd.us or 609-466-7602 x. 6203.
