With more than 100 booths showcasing local businesses, art, contemporary crafts, culinary delights, helicopter rides, hot air balloon ride, games of chance, live entertainment, and expanded inflatable rides and games area for children. The Montgomery FunFest on Sunday, September 25 from noon—5 pm at Princeton Airport will be a day of fun for everyone. This second annual community festival is free to local residents and visitors from surrounding communities.
FunFest is being produced by the Montgomery Business Association (MBA) comprised of your “Shop Local” area businesses, many of whom are local residents.
The opening ceremony will commence with the MHS band performing the Star Spangled Banner, opening remarks by Montgomery Township officials and Jean Robinson, MBA president and FunFest chairman.
Montgomery FunFest will include a variety of food vendors serving everything from lobster to funnel cakes. Feast upon sushi, BBQ, gyro, falafel, Chinese food, bacon, wood fired pizza, ice cream, kettle corn, cheesecake on a stick, and pastries. The Radio 101.5 Van will be at the MBA Welcome tent from 1-3 pm, where school groups, local taekwondo clubs, and dance studio students will showcase their talents. There will be two stages of live music featuring local bands Acoustic Road, The Shaxe, Fitz and the Cats, and Good Works. Attendees will enjoy games of skill, children’s activities, helicopter rides, and inflatable obstacle courses. MBA members will be selling merchandise and many will be offering free gifts. In addition to fire trucks, planes, helicopters, and classic cars on display, attendees can even end the day with a balloon ride.
“Our goal is to create a town tradition-that local residents would think not to miss. We appreciate that so many local business members, restaurants, and community organizations are contributing to the event’s success,” says MBA President, FunFest Chair and Executive Director of Volition Wellness Solutions Jean Robinson. “Last year’s FunFest enabled the Montgomery Business Association to award five $1000 scholarships to graduating MHS students Brandon Chang, Sreya Chhugani, Scarlett Bekus, Adriana Hong and Samir Jadev and to donate $2,500 to Crawford House,” she adds. “We hope to be even more successful this year, with even more scholarships!”
